No. The edit happens in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device. Promise.
What can I remove?
People, logos, text, signs, power lines, and stray objects all work well. Results really depend on the background behind the thing you remove. It works best with: fabric, grass, pavement, walls, for example.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP. The result downloads as a PNG.
Do I need a powerful computer or GPU?
No. It works in modern browsers on desktop and mobile. Ideally your computer has a GPU and runs Chrome. A computer with WebGPU edits fast (<1s on an M3 MacBook with Chrome) but it is not required. Also, the first visit downloads the model once and saves it in your browser.
Which model does it use?
Powered by LaMa (Large Mask inpainting) by Samsung Research, licensed Apache 2.0. It uses Fast Fourier Convolutions to fill large regions with coherent texture, running in your browser via onnxruntime-web. We serve our own ONNX conversion of big-lama, under the same license.
